Sanner's Lake Sportsmen's Club was chartered on August 28, 1952, as a chapter of the Isaak Walton League—an organization dedicated to conservation of woods, waters, and wildlife. That mission continues today. The club formally affiliated with the National Rifle Association on March 31, 1989, and maintains additional affiliations with the National Shooting Sports Federation (NSSF) and the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP Affiliate #071155).
SLSC operates five dedicated ranges:

SLSC has a non-discrimination policy and actively sponsors outreach programs for economically disadvantaged youth and supports the Paralympics/Wounded Warrior shooting sports program.
Regular Membership: - One-time initial fee: $250 - Annual membership dues (amount not specified in source) - Includes RSO certification via mandatory New Member Orientation class - Option to sponsor Associate (spouse) and Dependent (children 11-20) memberships
Military Membership: - Initial fee waived for up to 4 years (active-duty only) - Annual dues apply - No Associate/Dependent sponsorships allowed - After 4 years, must pay $250 initial fee to continue

SLSC's primary mission: foster outdoor shooting sports, environmental and wildlife conservation, and public safety through education. The club hosts the annual Bill Plath Memorial 3-Gun Event and maintains active conservation partnerships including Greenwing.
