Sanner's Lake Sportsmen's Club

Sanner's Lake Sportsmen's Club was chartered on August 28, 1952, as a chapter of the Isaak Walton League—an organization dedicated to conservation of woods, waters, and wildlife. That mission continues today. The club formally affiliated with the National Rifle Association on March 31, 1989, and maintains additional affiliations with the National Shooting Sports Federation (NSSF) and the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP Affiliate #071155).

SLSC operates five dedicated ranges:

SLSC schedules matches almost every weekend. January alone includes:

• •Skeet - First, second, third, fifth Saturday + third, fourth, fifth Sunday ($6 members / $8 non-members per round)
• •IDPA - Old Geezer, Working Stiffs, standard divisions running weekly
• •NRL22 Practice - Rimfire competition multiple times monthly
• •Bowling Pin Match - Dynamic pistol event
• •5-Stand - Shotgun shooting format
• •Frozen Chosin Rifle Match
• •USPSA - Practical shooting competition
• •Carbine Classic - Multi-gun event
• •Southern MD 2 Gun Match

Specialized Programs: - Women on Target (NRA women's program) - Armed Women of America - Refuse To Be A Victim (personal protection) - Appleseed (marksmanship fundamentals) - Stop the Bleed (first aid) - Archery Instruction - New Member Orientation (required for member access)

SLSC has a non-discrimination policy and actively sponsors outreach programs for economically disadvantaged youth and supports the Paralympics/Wounded Warrior shooting sports program.

• •Membership caps at 750 regular members + 37 military slots. New members accepted once yearly (usually summer/early fall). Waitlist year-round with no money required to apply.

Regular Membership: - One-time initial fee: $250 - Annual membership dues (amount not specified in source) - Includes RSO certification via mandatory New Member Orientation class - Option to sponsor Associate (spouse) and Dependent (children 11-20) memberships

Military Membership: - Initial fee waived for up to 4 years (active-duty only) - Annual dues apply - No Associate/Dependent sponsorships allowed - After 4 years, must pay $250 initial fee to continue

• •Eligibility: Must be U.S. citizen of good character, 18+ (dependents 11-20), approved by Board of Directors. New members must attend orientation class August through December to receive ID card, RFID gate access, and RSO certification.

SLSC's primary mission: foster outdoor shooting sports, environmental and wildlife conservation, and public safety through education. The club hosts the annual Bill Plath Memorial 3-Gun Event and maintains active conservation partnerships including Greenwing.
