St Joseph County Conservation & Sportsman Club

The St. Joseph County Conservation & Sportsman Club is a premier 182-acre shooting sports facility in Sturgis, Michigan, established in 1937 to promote conservation, safe hunting, and ethical shooting sports participation. This all-volunteer, membership-based organization offers one of the most comprehensive ranges of shooting activities in the region.

The club operates 10 specialized ranges accommodating diverse shooting disciplines:

• •Rifle Ranges: 100, 200, and 300-yard options for precision shooting
• •Pistol/Handgun Ranges: Two dedicated facilities for handgun training and practice
• •Shotgun Sports: Trap, skeet, and 5-stand sporting clays
• •Specialty Shooting: Cowboy Action Shooting and muzzleloading events
• •Archery: 4-H target archery range plus 3-D archery course
• •Competitive Events: IDPA shoots, registered ATA trap shoots, high-power and smallbore rifle competitions, and SCTP shotgun team competitions

The club is deeply committed to the next generation, offering:

• •MI DNR Hunter Education Classes at no cost (in-person, home study, and online options)
• •4-H Shooting Sports programs
• •Scholastic Pistol & Rifle (SASP) team
• •SCTP & AIM shotgun teams

Membership costs $105 annually (plus a one-time $25 orientation fee) and includes household members under 18, full-time college students, and active military. Members receive electronic gate card access to the 182-acre facility. The club has over 900 active members and welcomes new shooters to join their conservation and shooting sports community.

The clubhouse features ADA-compliant and handicap-accessible restrooms. CPL (Concealed Pistol License) classes are available for members.
