Full description and what we offer
The Oregon State Shooting Association (OSSA) is a statewide organization dedicated to promoting safe, responsible shooting sports participation across Oregon. Working in partnership with the Oregon Association of Shooting Ranges (OASR) and Oregon Firearms Safety Coalition (OFSC), OSSA serves as a clearinghouse for range access, competition opportunities, and community safety programs.
OSSA sanctions competitions in multiple disciplines:
OSSA's State Distinguished Awards program recognizes top shooters across multiple disciplines and skill levels.
OSSA partners with 80+ shooting ranges across Oregon, from Portland to the Oregon Coast to Eastern Oregon. Member facilities include:
The partnership ensures ranges have access to professional resources for design, membership management, safety protocols, and environmental stewardship.
OSSA, OASR, and OFSC have partnered to make Oregon a leader in firearms safety and mental health awareness within the shooting sports community:
OSSA clubs serve as community safety hubs. Member ranges partner with local city councils, chambers of commerce, and veterans associations to provide suicide prevention and mental health training at no cost.
OSSA actively engages in Oregon legislative processes, particularly regarding Second Amendment issues. The organization tracks ballot measures and state legislative sessions, providing position statements on firearms policy.
Shooters can: - Find a member range using OSSA's searchable directory (organized by city across all of Oregon) - Join local gun clubs affiliated with OSSA or OASR - Register for state championship competitions - Participate in safety and wellness programs at member facilities - Contact OSSA leadership for club resources and training coordination
Key Contacts: - President: Kerry Spurgin - Handgun Director: Craig Griswold - Safety & Wellness: Donna-Marie Drucker
