Izaak Walton League - Loudoun County

The Loudoun County Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America is a long-established conservation organization dedicated to protecting soil, air, woods, waters, and wildlife. Founded in 1951, the chapter operates an extensive shooting facility and outdoor recreation area on scenic woodland property.

The chapter offers diverse shooting opportunities for members:

• •3D Archery Range - Nearly half the property dedicated to archery, welcoming longbow, recurve, and compound shooters year-round
• •Rifle/Pistol Sight-In Range - Professional lanes at 25, 50, and 100 yards accommodating rifles, pistols, and muzzleloaders (open Mon-Sat when Range Officer available)
• •5-Stand Shotgun Range - Fun shoots, skeet, and trap shooting opportunities
• •NRA Certified Firearms Training - Professional instruction for all skill levels from certified instructors

The facility serves as a complete outdoor destination:

• •Conservation Education - Classes on specialized topics including bat monitoring and wildlife management
• •Fishing Pond - Stocked pond for member fishing
• •Camping - Primitive campsites in wooded areas and near the pond with firewood, fire rings, tables, and water

Facilities are available to members in good standing. Membership is straightforward to obtain, and the chapter holds hybrid membership meetings on the 2nd Monday of each month via Zoom and in-person. The chapter awards two annual scholarships and maintains an active events calendar including bird watching, bat counting, children's fishing derbies, and expert lectures.
