Founded in 1959, Northern Virginia Gun Club has been serving the shooting sports community for over six decades. The club was established to provide affordable shooting opportunities for members of modest income, offering comprehensive facilities and competitive programming at below-market membership costs.

Northern Virginia Gun Club operates on a long-term exclusive lease of 233 acres in King George County, Virginia, near Fredericksburg. The property features:

  • Rifle ranges with covered firing points accommodating distances from 25 to 200 yards
  • Two skeet fields for clay target shooting
  • Two trap fields for trap shooting competitions
  • IHMSA Pistol Silhouette range for precision pistol matches
  • Modified rifle silhouette range for rifle silhouette competitions
  • Camping grove for members
  • Meeting and social facilities for club events

The club conducts year-round shooting sports programs including:

  • Spring High Power Rifle League
  • Winter Smallbore Rifle League
  • Winter Smallbore Pistol League
  • Annual intra-club matches in high power rifle, smallbore rifle, pistol, skeet, trap, archery, and silhouette events
  • Junior marksmanship programs
  • Archery competitions

Northern Virginia Gun Club operates as a members-only facility with monthly membership meetings (third Saturday, except January) held at the club property on SR 218. The club hosts an Annual Membership Dinner in January, an Open House on National Hunting & Fishing Day, and an Annual Club Picnic. Members receive a monthly newsletter with updates on events and activities.

Associate memberships are available for spouses and children under 18 residing with primary members, with no membership dues required for associate members who can participate in competitions and club outings.
