Full description and what we offer
Central Florida Rifle and Pistol Club operates as an affiliated club with the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA), but their scope extends far beyond one discipline. The club runs sanctioned competitions across pistol, rifle, shotgun, multi-gun, and archery—making it a genuine all-around shooting sports hub in the Orlando, Florida area.
The club's flagship IDPA program focuses on practical competitive shooting for defensive tactics with carry gear. This is the core difference between IDPA and other shooting sports: you can compete with the exact holster and pistol you carry for self-defense. CFRPC allows Appendix Inside the Waistband (AIWB) holsters and seated draws, providing flexibility beyond standard IDPA rules.
IDPA uses full-power service ammunition to solve simulated real-world self-defense scenarios. The goal is testing individual skill and ability—not equipment. Before IDPA existed, there was nowhere to compete with common service pistols in a setup that matched actual carry gear. Match registration and results are managed through Practiscore.

The defining feature: your duty or concealed carry (CCW) equipment is competitive without handicap. You're not buying specialty match gear to be competitive—your practical carry setup works.
Year-round competition calendar with events scheduled nearly every weekend across multiple disciplines, plus regular practice sessions and training opportunities.
The club maintains certified Range Safety Officers (RSOs) including FTO (Field Training Officer) designations. RSO shifts are scheduled regularly, and new RSOs can shadow experienced officers. Named RSOs include Rodney Gross, Nate Rosenbluth, Dan Dey, Jeff Reyes, Jorge Londono, Pablo Piquerez, James Sanchez, Jim Graf, and others.
The club manages multiple calendar systems: - Main Calendar (all events) - RSO Calendar (range safety officer shifts) - Meetings & Orientations calendar - Match-specific schedules
