Southwest Shooting Center

Southwest Shooting Center operates a sprawling facility in Eastern New Mexico with the infrastructure to handle everything from casual shooting to major competitive matches. The range spans multiple purpose-built areas:

They offer two main training programs:

• •NM Concealed Handgun License Course: $99, held the 3rd weekend of every month (Saturday & Sunday, 10am-6pm). Register at the pro shop or call 575-985-1776.
• •10-Day Pistol/Carbine Proficiency: Military and law enforcement only. $9,500 for 6,000 total rounds (3,000 carbine, 3,000 handgun) covering fundamentals, moving targets, positional shooting, and weak-side work. Can run continuously or spread over 30 days.

Southwest hosts major competitions, most notably the Southwest Shootout—a Level 3 USPSA Major Match drawing competitors from across the region. They run 12 stages, 350+ round count, with a staff reset match format. The August event includes:

• •Food trucks for lunch
• •Saturday evening social with dinner, drinks, and live music at the pro shop
• •Night shooting on illuminated steel range
• •Fire pits on deck
• •Machine gun rentals available

Monthly USPSA and NRL 22 events are also on the schedule.

The 8,000 sq ft pro shop houses classrooms, members lounge, indoor rock wall, and coffee shop. Dry RV spots available for match participants. Multiple hotels within 5 minutes (Towne Place Suites, Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Hilton Home 2). Clovis Regional Airport offers daily service to DFW and Denver via Denver Air Connection.
