Sunnyvale Rod & Gun Club has been a non-profit shooting facility since 1959, operating from its foothill location at Stevens Canyon Road opposite Stevens Creek Reservoir. The club serves both casual shooters and competitive athletes, welcoming all experience levels to rifle, pistol, and shotgun disciplines.
The club maintains three separate facilities:

Entry Fees: - Rifle/Pistol Range: $25/person ($5 for juniors under 18) - Trap or 5-Stand: $8 per game ($5 for juniors) - Cash and credit cards accepted everywhere
5-Stand rates reduced to $8 per game as of March 2025.
As of March 2025, ammunition is available for purchase on-site: - Saturdays: 9AM–3PM - Tuesdays: Noon–6PM
Commonly stocked calibers: 22LR, .380 ACP, 9x19mm, .223 Remington, 7.62x39mm, 12 gauge slugs, 12 gauge trap load, 20 gauge trap load. Other calibers available by request (408-873-8255, ext. 810).
All ammunition purchased at the club must be shot at the club that same day and cannot leave the property.
Action Pistol (Wednesday Noon) Members and guests compete in USPSA, IPSC, IDPA, ICORE, and Steel Challenge disciplines. Typical courses require 100–150 rounds shooting 9mm, 38 Special, 38 Super, 40 S&W, 45 ACP, or 22LR. Cold range operation with holster draws allowed for experienced shooters. First-time participants can shoot from low ready until safety is confirmed. (Note: Sig Sauer P320 and all variants prohibited.)
Bullseye Pistol League (1st & 3rd Wednesday, 6:30PM) Open to members and non-members with no prior experience required. Modified 1200 course of fire in 22 Rimfire and Center Fire divisions. Slow, timed, and rapid fire at 25 and 50 yards. Cost: $5 members, $10 non-members. New shooters arrive by 6PM to notify range master.
Cowboy Action Shooting (3rd Monday, 6PM–9PM) Sunnyvale Regulators host Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) events for ages 12+. Steel targets at 7–50 yards using single-action revolvers, pre-1896 rifles, and pre-1898 shotguns. 1800s-era clothing encouraged. Cost: $10 non-members, $5 members.
Monday Night Trap League Weekly competitive trap shooting for members and guests.
5-Stand Events Includes standard 5-stand competition and Lewis Class shoots designed to give new shooters fair chances against experienced competitors through handicap-based scoring.
The non-profit BayProfs hosts NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting every 4th Saturday from 10AM–6PM at the facility.
The club has been member-run since 1959 and welcomes new members. Benefits include: - Access to facilities at extended hours beyond public times - Discounted shooting rates - Group ammunition purchases - Ability to work at the club in exchange for cost reductions
The club does not rent or sell firearms but welcomes shooters of all experience levels to pursue rifle, pistol, and shotgun sports in a safe environment.
